The 3rd Annual Mountain Top Classic was a great success, with more than 180 wrestlers in Greco-Roman on Friday night, March 23, and almost 470 wrestlers in freestyle on Saturday, March 24.  Competition was fierce, with athletes from seven states competing: Colorado, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah and Wyoming.  An estimated 2,000-plus spectators filled the large and small gyms at Jordan High School. 

Team competition in both the freestyle and Greco-Roman tournaments resulted in a host of clubs battling it out.  The team competition results were as follows:

  • 1st Vandit Wrestling Club — 424

  • 2nd Mountain Top Wrestling Club — 412

  • 3rd Champions Wrestling Club — 384

• Freestyle Team Competition

  • 1st Champions Wrestling Club — 580

  • 2nd Mountain Top Wrestling Club — 509

  • 3rd Rocky Mountain Wrestling — 500

Outstanding Wrestlers were recognized for each age division in each tournament, with Utah wrestlers claiming all awards, despite competition traveling in from neighboring states.  (Outstanding Wrestlers)
