The 2nd Annual Mountain Top Classic was a great success, the largest Utah tournament in 2006, with 140 wrestlers in Greco-Roman on Friday night, March 10, and 496 wrestlers in freestyle on Saturday, March 11.  An estimated 2,000-plus spectators filled the large and small gyms at Jordan High School. 

Team competition resulted in a host of clubs battling it out, but host Mountain Top Wrestling Club came out ahead, winning the first-place trophy by a decent margin.  The top five teams were as follows:

• 1st Mountain Top Wrestling Club — 594

• 2nd Champions Wrestling Club — 418

• 3rd Rocky Mountain Wrestling — 398

• 4th Diamondbacks — 340

• 5th Wasatch — 252

Outstanding Wrestlers were recognized for each age division, with Utah wrestlers claiming all awards, despite competition traveling in from neighboring states.  (Outstanding Wrestlers)
