The Mountain Top Classic was a great success, the largest Utah tournament in 2005, with 145 wrestlers in Greco-Roman on Friday night, March 11, and 545 wrestlers in freestyle on Saturday, March 12.  An estimated 2,000-plus spectators filled the large and small gyms at Jordan High School. 

Team competition was fierce, with Champions Wrestling Club of Springville edging out host Mountain Top Wrestling Club for the first-place trophy by a mere 38 points (580 to 542).

Outstanding Wrestlers were recognized for each age division, with Utah wrestlers claiming all awards, despite competition traveling in from neighboring states.  Even that competition was heated, with four of the seven winners having to be determined by second criteria.  (Outstanding Wrestlers)
