Hatfield
TyRon Hatfield of Springville
was a member of
Sundance Wrestling Club, arguably the
finest freestyle/Greco-Roman wrestling team in Utah history,
producing the first two world champions from Utah*, and dozens of
other international and national honors. As a competitor, he
started wrestling in 1974 and, during his career, earned two AAU
national championships, was a three-time Zone/Western Regional
champion, a 10-time state champion in freestyle and Greco-Roman
wrestling, and was a two-time high school state champion. TyRon made the World Team in freestyle wrestling, and wrestled
for Brigham Young University. He also has a strong martial
arts background, including a black belts in Jiu-Jitsu, Judo and Lion Kenpo,
a green belt in
Korean Hapkwando, and competition and training in Sombo and Hapkido.
He has coached wrestling, Jiu-Jitsu
and Kukido wrestling.
