charged into the USA Utah Freestyle Kickoff Classic wrestling
tournament Feb. 18 at Juan Diego High School. Nineteen South Valley
athletes came away with medals in the freestyle wrestling

"This was a great way to launch into the

out on the mat in a live tournament for the first time and I can't
tell you how happy we are to see them do so well."
Winning golds were brothers Tysen and
Cole Clark of Herriman - Tysen at flyweight (ages 6 and under)
60-plus pounds and Cole at bantam 65 pounds; Tyson Drage of Draper,
bantam 70 pounds; and Tayler Johnson of Draper, midget 65 pounds.
Taking silver medals were Jed Lee of
Draper, flyweight 40 pounds; brothers Beau and Jordan McRae of South
Jordan - Beau at bantam 50 pounds and Jordan at midget 55 pounds;
and Jordan Drage of Draper, schoolboy (ages 13 and 14) 100 pounds.
Winning bronze medals were David
Hulverson of Draper, flyweight 45 pounds; Devin Johnson of Draper,
bantam 45 pounds; and Tyler Schwendiman of South Jordan, midget 55
pounds.
Also competing in the flyweight division
were Jefferson Harbaugh and Hunter Hellander of South Jordan;
competing in the bantam division were Brigham Anderson of South
Jordan and Bradley Findlay of Draper; competing in the midget
division were Matthew Lee, Matthew Findlay and Jon Lee of Draper,

of."
